Obama makes pledge to Israel
St Petersburg News.Net Wednesday 23rd July, 2008
In Israel, as part of his Middle East/European tour, Barack Obama has hailed Israel as a miracle.
Believed to be appealing to Jewish voters in the US, Obama told a dinner crowd he would forge an unshakeable bond with the Israeli people if elected president.
At the dinner, hosted by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Mr Obama stressed his understanding of local security fears and said he would not push Israel into a peace deal.
He also warned a nuclear Iran would pose a grave threat to the world.
On a visit to the village of Sderot, which is often the target of incoming rockets from Gaza, the senator reiterated his vow to stop Iran developing nuclear weapons, while defending his offer of talks with leaders from the Islamic Republic.
He said Iranian talks would mean: "Big carrots and big sticks."
Obama told reporters in Sderot: "I continue to say that Jerusalem will be the capital of Israel. But i've also said that it is a final status issue that must be decided by negotiation."
The Illinois senator also spoke to Palestinian leaders during a short trip into the territories, in which he said he would sponsor a vigorous peace effort if elected.
Obama held just over an hour of talks with Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas after driving into heavily guarded Ramallah in a motorcade.
Obama, who has already visited Kuwait, Afghanistan, Iraq and Jordan, heads on to a three-stop tour of Europe, beginning in Berlin on Thursday.

Obama makes pledge to Israel
Obama should take his pledges and go replace Olmert!
The US needs a leader that Puts the US Citizens first not Israel and Corporations!
Obama sold out! and odes not deserve to be the Democrat Candidate! Open the Convention! Remember the distaste of being told he will not come to the convention with his acceptance speech? That’s a clear sellout to the corporation wealthy!

Obama can’t be taken at face value. He is a politician. He always leaves himself a way out of any suggested course of action. The reality is that he will say many things to get elected. He is in manipulation mode. The U.S. should aid Israel when possible since God blesses those who bless Israel. It is in the Bible.

The great slag off. But
America bashing is the present day phenomenon. Lets sit down n look at big picture. Black people and anyone from aroud the world have the possibility of makeing life a success in US. We have the Rice’s, powells, the Obama’s and many more from around world. Sure these people are not without controversy but US is still the land of opportunity. The land of the free. Cant see any other country that comes anywhere close to these ideals. Does’nt mattter where you come from its all there waiting for you to shine. Just remember these things before opening your big mouths. Non American.

Seems clear you have choosen to Include Religion and Religious Actions as legitimate government functioning.
My question to you, do you respect all Religions with your choice? Do you respect all Countries with your choice?
My concern is abuse of your choice.
When a government such a Turkey is/has swung under a religion and or 'teachings' that adds punishment to those that do not follow adhere or simply do not believe in the teachings, what happens is civil violence and government abuse to those violating the teachings.
For many years Turkey was able to moderate and form working governments by keeping religion and religious acts or teachings out of its government.
The last ~30 years of US Government has seen Our Separation of Church and State disintergrate, and abuse has been creeping in at an increasing rate. Obama has already declared More additions of religious inclusions. Given the voiced moods of US BIGOTS, the Muslim Religion Supported Politicians would not be welcomed, in fact it would not surprise me to see banning attempts! Which would also have the meaning, 'so much for freedom of religion'.
So I ask, What is the best choice, Separation of Church and State(complete)? Or, Allowed the Majority to bring in its beliefs under the power of the elected Government?
My choice, god has no place in Government in that governments are man made and reflect Peoples Will and Justice. The allowance of individual choice of beliefs and acts that do not harm others in the country of laws, is the correct CHOICE!
And yours is ?
