The death toll is rising and dozens of people have been reported injured in a blaze at an oil depot near the Indian tourist city of Jaipur.

Still burning fiercely, the massive fire at the oil depot has killed at least 10 people.

The depot, only 16 kilometres south of Jaipur, contains gasoline, kerosene and diesel fuel stocks.

The fire, still billowing thick black smoke, was supposedly caused by a leak in a pipeline.

The oil depot is owned by the state-owned Indian Oil Corporation.
